Una planta es ven en els vivers i botigues de caixa és el Hibiscus tropical (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis). Aquest conegut espècie és resistent al llarg de la costa del golf de Mèxic, Califòrnia, Florida i Hawaii, però es pot configurar per a l'estiu a l'aire lliure en qualsevol part del país. Hi ha centenars de varietats que vénen en forma de flors diverses, així com en gairebé tots els colors i es venen com a plantes de contenidors en forma d'arbust o topiaria.
Alerta:
Hibiscus necessitat, ben drenat, lleugerament àcid del sòl, el sol directe i algun tipus de protecció (ombra filtrada) quan les temperatures estan a 90 graus. Al dur a terme per primera vegada el que necessites per aclimatar l'intens calor i el sol. També els agrada molt l'aigua. Fertilitzar la lleugera i, sovint amb un diluït 10-10-10 o 20-20-20 activa durant la temporada de creixement.
El disc igual que les flors es solen durar un dia o dos i venen en només cinc pètals, crestes individuals, dobles i platerets doble tassa. Hibiscus té períodes actius de la flor que són seguits d'un descans, dins i fora. Així que si la seva planta en flor es va aturar per un temps, pot ser simplement de descans.

Quan la nit les temperatures baixen per sota de 50 graus que el seu hibiscos endins per l'hivern. Per ajudar a suportar la llarga temporada, mantingui'l en un (65-75), sala de sol brillant (4-5 hores) de distància d'una font de calor directe i projectes. Menys aigua, però mantingui el sòl humit, uniforme i proporcionar la humitat amb un humidificador o una pedra safata plena d'aigua. Comproveu que les plagues tals com áfidos, mosca blanca i àcars aranya i tractar amb sabó insecticida si la infestació es produeix. Una altra opció és deixar que la seva hibiscos inactives per l'hivern. Posar endins i deixar de regar fins que el sòl és sec i les fulles han caigut. Després poseu en un lloc fresc, fosc habitació amb temperatures de 40-45F. Comprovar el sòl periòdicament per assegurar-se que no s'assequi totalment. Quan la part superior 2.-3. Polzades estan seques, l'aigua només el suficient per humitejar el terra i mantenir la planta de morir.
Poda
Si la seva planta ha crescut Leggy i fora de control pot podar 1/3-1/2 que a començaments de primavera per reformar i ho mantingui atapeït. Poda de les arrels a la tardor també ajuda a alentir el creixement sucursal.
En climes més freds, hibiscos pot ser gaudit com un interior de casa a l'hivern ia l'aire lliure que per a l'estiu. Amb una mica de cura que vostè pot gaudir d'aquestes flors tropicals i fora tot l'any.
Una ocurrència comú és la fulla de color groguenc i caiguda de fulles, el que pot ser causada per falta d'aigua o en excés. Com es determina que una? Mira en l'arrel pilota. És potbound? Significat de les arrels són tan apretat que estan creixent en un patró circular amb un sòl pobre esquerra? Fer tots els dies de l'aigua i la planta encara es veu sec? Si això passa és probable que se li "falta d'aigua". No hi ha suficient sòl per retenir aigua i nutrients. En lloc de submergir-se en l'aigua i els nutrients són flueix a través dels forats de drenatge de sortir de la seva planta de set i fam. És el moment en el coneixement sobre un recipient més gran. El millor moment és en el coneixement sobre la primavera, però en cas que no pot esperar afegir més terra al seu contenidor per ajudar en l'absorció d'aigua i l'aigua lentament. Em van donar una Tropicals Hibiscus en una cistella penjant. És només al voltant de 2 'd'alçada i ara ha donat un munt de flors d'aquest any, a més de lots de llavors, però les beines de llavors no prendre mesos per obrir. Van obrir dues o tres setmanes després de la flor es sec i va caure. Es pot plantar les llavors ara per créixer més? Puc quedar amb aquesta planta durant l'hivern també?
No deixar el comentari, però jo també tinc aquests petits errors i sí, són com vostè descriu. La planta no sembla massa molesta terriblement per ells, però, he observat algunes taques fosques en algunes de les fulles inferiors. Ells estan a punt de florir de nou, així que m'agradaria tenir algunes de les estrès fora d'ells, si és possible.
Tinc una rosa malva hibiscos interiors. La planta es veu perfectament sa, però les flors han caigut abans de floració. El que causa això i van a créixer de nou aquesta temporada?
Plantem 24 hibiscos a principis d'aquest estiu, alternat rosa i groc. Que va florir meravellosament prop d'un mes i ara només tenim unes poques flors en algunes de les plantes de rosa SOLAMENTE. El groc ha deixat de florir completament. Pot assessorar. Vivim en la soleada Florida central i les plantes estan en ple sol. Els arbustos estan fent grans, però realment gaudir de les flors.
També estem tenint problemes amb el rovell caiguda al llarg de la costa est-central de Florida. Pot identificar les possibles raons? Massa pluja i altes temperatures?

Hibiscus tropical viu a l'àrea de Chicago. Vaig comprar tres Hibiscus rosa-sinensis l'estiu passat i els van posar en el meu pati. Que va florir i va dir molt bé. Quan va arribar la tardor, em mut a la meva escalfa la brossa que hi havia una gran finestra. En el fred, les escombraries es va reduir a 45 graus i es va aixecar a l'alta 50. 2 de les 3 plantes perdut totes les seves fulles. Al febrer, em va impulsar a les tres a la casa a prop d'una finestra. 1 planta ha crescut de nou les seves fulles i flor. Els altres dos no tenen fulles, però quan el seu banches zero, continua sent verd. De febrer a maig, aquestes dues plantes no han tingut les fulles, però quan veig verd ratllat. Aquestes dues plantes es tornen encara?

Hi ha flors / plantes que no "es porten" bé amb un Hibiscus? He sentit que alguns de flors / plantes poden causar problemes quan es col loquen a prop d'ells.

Jo visc a Phoenix i només 3 hibiscos plantat plantes. La més petita sembla estar fent bé, els 2 més grans semblaven començar panseixen i la mort fins i tot abans que pogués obtenir en el terreny. Ambdós tenen un munt de fulles d'inflexió yeloow i els altres han començat a fulls de tipus sec. Sembla que en el benefici eveining primera hora del matí i, a continuació, per midafternoon són molt Droopy. Aquest és el trasplantament de xoc? Hola, jo visc a Scottsdale AZ i plantem 3 Lipstick Hibiscus l'any passat a ple sol. Hi va haver un parell de nits el passat hivern quan les gelades, i jo havia oblidat a ells. Es veien terribles, però es van recuperar i van augmentar totes les noves fulles. Aquest estiu, 2 són magnífics i una no ho és. Els malalts i va morir una pansides en només la meitat de la planta fa un mes. Ara, el costat bo és pansides, també. Què pot estar passant? Gràcies.

Pot un hibiscos resistents, aproximadament 6 peus d'alçada i ara de 6 peus d'ample que divideix? Si és així, quan és un bon moment per fer-ho? Les flors són de la mida d'un plat gran i és tan bonic! Jo visc a Palm Springs, CA. Tenir un hibiscos groc al voltant de 3 anys d'edat. Aquest últim any en que finalment es va iniciar l'ompliment i sempre ha estat una meravellosa flor productor. Aquesta setmana passada hem tingut un bloqueig i es veu tan trist.
Què he de fer per eliminar totes les fulles mortes o deixar que la planta de tenir cura d'ella? Gràcies

Jo visc a Illinois i me acabo de comprar un arbre Hibiscus fa un mes. Durant la darrera setmana, moltes de les fulles es groga. Cada vegada que em fos a anar l'aigua, sembla que és molt sec així que he estat que tots els dies de reg. Vaig pensar que podria ajudar si em poso humus a la part superior del sòl per evitar que s'assequin tan ràpid. Que és una mala idea? Dels altres anuncis d'aquí, sona com jo pot ser que necessiti per tornar a l'olla la mateixa. Algun suggeriment?
Tinc 2 hibiscos en contenidors, va tenir un any, aquest any només una vegada florir, però no molts, només un de cada dos mesos. necessito saber Què puc fer per que la flor ofte? si la llum del sol viu a Alabama menors que reben el sol del matí fins al migdia l'ombra de la casa els cobreix, estan a 90 graus de calor després de passar la llum solar directa, que es deixa una mica wilty quan el sol està en ells després de sol es mou les fulles són ferms i erecte, però encara no floreix si us plau ajuda .. Hola vivim a Ontario Canadà i les nostres plantes s'han plantat en el terreny aquest estiu. Se'ns va dir que nosaltres en mantenir fora de tot l'any roound. Van dir que només es tallen en el sping el clima aquí varia normalment entre -15 i -45 en occaision. Is this true and if so how much do we cut them back.

I have a few Tropical hibiscus plants (30) and a few of them are looking rather weird. This is affecting the Rum Runner Hybrids mostly, When I first bought them the leaves were nice and full, now they are smaller and cup upwards. This change began to take place only a few weeks after I put them in the ground, They receive full sunlight and are watered sufficiently. I started fertilizing about a month ago and still no change, other than big HUGE Blooms. I thought I had read someplace it was some sort of deficiency but I cannot remember of what… ANy thoughts?

I was in Wash. DC recently and saw a rather large tropical hibiscus (4″ trunk) about 5-6′ tall. I wouldn’t think that a plant this large would be moved indoors for the winter and then replanted in the spring. I live in Georgia and have three beautiful Yellow hibiscus planted outside and would like to leave them out for the winter. Winters here are about 25-45F. Would this be possible if the plants are mulched around heavily?
I brought my Hibiscus tree in for the winter and i have a new kitten who decided ‘hugging’ the tree would be fun. Anyway, upon further inspection, i noticed a ton of claw marks all up & down the tree. I have since cut some soda bottles & put it around the bark, but my leaves are turning yellow & falling off. I am hoping it is just from overwatering, but i want to know if there might be a treatment i should do for the claw marks. Maybe some type of a wrap? i dont know. Please help. Thanks.

Help! I just recently moved to MS zone 8. Bought two beautiful Hibiscus late last summer and planted outside. Didn’t ask if they were hardy (silly me, I moved from FL) and it appears they are not as they are now black and wilted after a recent frost. One of the locals said to just cut it back even with the ground and next Spring all will be well! Is this possible?? They are well mulched and seemed to love their location responding beautifully after the transplant from pot to ground.
I was just going to cut back my Hibsicus for the spring, and now notice a few flowers and buds growing. I should have cut them back earlier. Is it too late to trim them way back for the summer months, or should I wait until the buds are finished flowering?
i live in ohio and i have an outdoor hardy hibiscus -i cut it back last fall and now, so far, it looks dead-will it come around or did i kill it?
I have over-wintered my tropical hibiscus very successfully until now. It is blooming again, but at the same time one or more branches starts wilting. What is happening? HELP! I have pruned those that wilted so far, but seems to be getting worse. It’s still too cold to move outdoors.

A note for people with dogs and Hibiscus. My golden retriever LOVES the flowers..and in searching the internet, Hibiscus is on a few “safe for dogs” lists but is on more “toxic to dogs ” list. The day before yesterday he ate a lot of flowers. They made him very lethargic, his gums were very pale, he had no energy and acted very odd in general. His blood pressure was very low! He had finally eaten enough of those darn pink blossoms to make him quite sick.
So we had to cut the tree down today. Just for information for all that have dogs and Hibiscus trees!

Hello. I have a 6 ft hibiscus tree that the leafs seem to be dying and some small branchs too.. Is there a fertilizer I can use with certain numbers I need to watch for ?? I am now using Miracle Grow for trees ? but no luck with limbs or leafs staying on.. It is a beautiful tree.. also it is in the church basement nearest the windows we can move it… it is bright there all day long, but no direct sunshine… please help
I’ve been (trying) to acclimate my hibiscus to the outside this past week. I had it outside for about 6 hours today - temps were in the mid-60s, not much wind. It’ll be dropping into the upper 30s/low 40s so I brought it back inside. Yesterday all the leaves were strong and a healthy shade of green. When I brought it in tonight, most of the leaves have faded and are limp and very weak looking. Did I stress it too much today? Is there anything I can do to bring it back to life?
which variety of hibiscus would grow in a room where the temperature ranges from 80 degrees to 110 degrees? there is some light but mostly shade.
Do you get at least an hour or two of direct sunlight?
I have 2 hibiscus bushes that I got this spring that are outside in large pots. They were doing wonderfully and blooming every day. I believe they are in their “rest” period because the blooms have slowed down. But my question is that one of the bushes all of a sudden became very limp and the leaves and buds are hanging. We had some heavy rains and I noticed some water pooling the the pot. Could this be the reason and if so what should I do?
Last year we bought a hibiscus and planted it outdoors in a large pot. Because we live in New England, we brought it in and it did well indoors over the Winter although by Spring it was losing a lot of leaves. We planted it back outdoors and it stayed dormant for weeks - loosing all leaves. When the leaves starting appearing, the growth was extremely slow. The plant has been outdoors now for approximately 2 months and the leaves are abnormally small, much darker green than last year’s, and there is no sign of flowers. What is wrong? Thanks so much.

I have a question regarding my hibiscus plant and I reside in Texas. I had my plant on the back patio where there is some shade during the day but very windy. I noticed that the plant starting declining but I did water it every day. I decided to move the plant to the front where it gets no wind and part sun/shade. The leaves are all dead and brown but there is still green when I check the stems. When I moved the plant to the front out of the wind I had repotted before doing so thinking this would help. I have about 30 tropical Hibiscus in plant and tree form. I have had great success with them for several years. They are over-wintered and flower well in my greenhouse. They are brought out onto my patio with optimal conditions. Every year (from May on), they bloom all summer profusely. This year, with the same regimen, I have no flowers this far into the season! The plants, especially the trees, have grown huge/wide with abundant beautiful leaves, but NO flowers. I had been using 20-20-20 Miracle-Gro, but swithched to the Bloom-Booster in late June..no difference. Looking at the branch ends, I see many tiny falling buds, some yellow, some brown, while some branch ends have nothing but leaves. I had a problem with rose midge this year in the garden. Now, I’m thinking this may have moved up to the Hibiscus (10′above). Should I spray Insectidicial soap? The nights are about 65-70 lately. Thank you!

I have a Hibiscus bush and recently brought it inside due to the cold weather in NJ First, I wanted to ask if there is anything I can do for my plant in the house that will help it to grow, flower, and stay beautiful. My house is pretty hot in the winter approx. 75 to 80 degrees at times. Right now the plant seems to be flowering beautifully about 9 flowers at a time. Only issue with the flowers is that they do not seem to be that beautiful bright red they once were when living outside. Now they are a light red almost pink color. Secondly, I wanted to ask if I can dry out the flowers to make tea. If so, how would I proceed in doing so? I have searched for some direction on this but really no good results! Can you please lead me in the right direction? Are these flowers edible and can they be used in any other recipes that you know of?
