    Can primroses be planted outdoors?

    Hi Carol
Yes, plant your primrose outdoors in part shade and slightly moist soil. They make a lovely border plant on the edge of a woodland.

My primroses are not doing well. The new buds tend to dry out after the flowers have faded. Some buds may start blooming but eventually dry out. Please help.

    Hi Alice
When a plant is under some kind of stress, it will usually affect the flower buds first. Primrose need an even moist soil-not too wet or too dry. If you let them dry out too much the buds will be affected. Another factor is insects. Spider mites love hot, dry indoor air. Look for webbing between the leaves and flowers.
